What the platform is
GroupFund keeps a savings group's records: its members, contributions, loans, fines and receipts. It doesn't hold, move or lend money. Members pay into the club's own account, and the platform records the payment.
Who can use it
- A group that agrees to these terms. The person who asks for the club confirms they can speak for the group.
- The club's officials and members, with accounts the club gives them.
The club's part
- Its own rules, and deciding who its members and officials are.
- Checking the records it brings in. The platform suggests and the club decides.
- Keeping its mobile money and text keys safe, and paying those services' own charges.
- Telling its members that their records are kept here. Each club has its own privacy page for that, and members agree to it when they set their password.
Our part
- Keeping the platform running with care, and the club's records safe.
- Telling the club before a change that affects it.
- Giving the club a copy of its records whenever it asks.
Fair use
No unlawful use, no attempt to reach another club's records, and no messages to people who haven't agreed to receive them.
Fees
Any fee is agreed in writing with the club before it's charged. Nothing is charged without that.
When something goes wrong
We do our best to keep the platform working, but we can't promise it will never be down. We're responsible for losses caused by our own carelessness. We're not responsible for a club's own decisions, for mistakes in records a club brings in, or for faults in a mobile money or text service.
Leaving
A club can leave at any time and gets a copy of its records. They're then deleted as the privacy notice says. We may close a club's account if it breaks these terms, after a warning, unless there's an urgent risk to others' safety or data.
Law
These terms follow the law of Kenya, where The Boys Club Alliance (TBCA) is. A club's own country's law still applies to the club.
Changes to these terms
We'll tell each club at least 30 days before a change that matters to it.
